The community is very committed, the women organized by clan bring every day the water necessary to make the bricks, the youth dig the foundations of the 2 blocks of building to build 6 classrooms. The bricks are lining up and the first wall is already in place.
Our office does not know Sundays, everyone goes to Dalaba to plan and organize the work of the week with the community, so that the contractor can act quickly and without waiting.
That is why they came to the sub-prefecture of Fodécariah & Balimana. They appreciated the infrastructure and the activities that the teaching staff carries out at the level of the college and the high school, especially to animate the youth to read and use the library.
Mr. Souleymane Kaba, the director of the college, proposed some improvements to the reading room, such as
To improve literacy and numeracy skills in the primary grades through the use of games, children's books, worksheets, and group work on a daily basis, as well as the preparation of theater and puppet shows at the end of the school year. Beyond that, the teaching staff is committed to giving remedial classes for exam preparation.
To pool our expertise and experience to facilitate the use of modern teaching methods, known as positive pedagogy, where the child as a SUBJECT is at the heart of his learning.
Create regular skill workshops together for primary and secondary schools involving the teaching staff.
Launch together audiovisual projects with children to explain the importance of water for life and health, the problem of plastics and waste for nature and our health... awareness videos in French for schools and in local language for parents.

Unfortunately, after 2 years of Corona, the SEZ has stopped this kind of co-financing. This is why we find ourselves having to put the total sum of 24.321 EUR for the realization of this project.
That's why, in the name of social justice between the north and the south, we are appealing to private donations to lighten our associative fund for this project and allow us to finance other projects in the future, hoping that by then we will have found other foundations willing to co-finance us.

The particularity of this project will be the construction of a sanitary block, composed of:
Poor village communities have built schools and recruited teachers at their own expense (5000 community teachers).
As the social elevator is still broken in Guinea, parents still do not see the advantage of sending their children to school. Having diplomas does not mean having a job and earning a good living! The majority of students find themselves unemployed after their studies. Results:
Their goals are to help the village in all areas of development, including sanitation of public places, reforestation, renovation of old roads and agriculture.
In addition, their dream is that all the infrastructure built by the German NGO will be in good hands and well maintained. Their goal is also to sanitize and make all these infrastructures self-sufficient.
The activities we have already carried out are the following:
As the photos indicate, the very active diaspora of Fodecariah & Balimana has obtained an ambulance to transport serious cases to Kankan (60 km) and Bamako in Mali (250 km).
On the other hand, Mrs. Colié complains that the community is not sufficiently involved to provide for the urgent needs of the dilapidated state of the buildings and its layout, which forces her to perform deliveries directly on the ground.
The health post urgently needs beds and mattresses, a delivery table worthy of the name, as well as all the necessary equipment to sterilize and facilitate deliveries!
What her responsibilities are:
We are going to do everything we can so that she finds a job as a teacher in the village, even if it is only as a temporary worker, to complete her small salary due to her responsibilities, but which is not enough to support the family.
This person works as a volunteer without pay to help the youth to progress in modernity with a better education for a better development of his country.
He lives from his activities as a radio journalist and lecturer, where he ensures with a team regular broadcasts on the theme of education in local languages so that the population is really aware. They get a lot of feedback and questions from parents.
He attended the handing over of my pedagogical cards to the teachers of Fodécriah to help the primary school improve the learning of the alphabet, the construction of words, arithmetic, classification, detective investigation, treasure hunt and story reading through games. The next day we were already on their Facebook page.
He wishes to conclude our common efforts for the improvement of education in Guinea by a partnership. This will be voted on at our next general assembly.
They will celebrate the anniversary of their NGO on May 28, 2022 in Kankan, under the sign "Workshop of reflection on the duty of parents and teachers for the improvement of the Guinean educational system" where all parents and school supervisors of the prefecture of Kankan are invited.
It is committed to organizing a children's festival with fun activities for children (sack races, musical chairs ...) in the youth center in collaboration with our leader Mr. Traore (together on the photo) in May 2023 at the Feast of Tabaski

Alphabet books, scrabble as a word factory, memory games to learn vocabulary, classification games, detective games to learn how to ask questions, calculation games, puzzles, rebus, riddles, treasure hunts... As well as a book of 1000 African tales and 500 cartoons to motivate the children to read
I also brought puppets for the students and children to act out their favorite tales.
This is now given to the person in charge of the computer room with the school principals to use this material in their lessons and in the play activities proposed in the youth house.

It is with passion and thoroughness that he manages this center and provides 2 hours of introductory computer courses to all students of the college and high school of Fodecariah since 2018. Computer science is not part of the Guinean school curriculum, so the teaching is done without controls or grades, i.e. just by volunteering and the pleasure of learning!
After having succeeded in finding the solution and the necessary funds to the problem of solar batteries, which paralyzed the functioning of the center for 6 months, he now wishes to commit himself more in the process of autonomy of the management of the center, so that they can assure themselves the internet flatrate and maintain and repair the devices.
For this he will soon deliver a concept composed of several tracks to create new financial resources. Small monthly contribution of the students, setting up different services to all the population of the sub-prefecture; such as the service of photocopies, writing of official mail, excel calculation, page layout ....
We wish him good luck so that his application for tenure will be successful and that he will finally be paid at the level of his commitment and his profession!
A delegation of 5 traders came to greet us upon our arrival and explained the functioning of their tontine.
Their tontine is made up of 60 women traders, located in Kankan, most of whom are illiterate, but who have taken their destiny into their own hands, and have each set up their own business, in order to support their family and give their children a better education.
In the second photo, the young woman on the left in blue, has just finished her studies as a chartered accountant and is committed to helping frame and professionalize all the traders with her expertise.
They pay 6 million GNF at the end of each month to build up a capital of 360 million GNF (36,000 EUR) which will be distributed to the most needy of the month. About every 3 years, they use this starting capital to either buy goods on a large scale by container, or to open another store, or to pay for a child's studies abroad, or to build.
Mrs. Fatoumata Keita, shown here in the first photo in front of her hardware store, has a total of 3 stores in the Kankan market, 2 of which are cosmetics stores. These 3 stores give jobs to her brothers and sisters and thus allow the whole family to live.
This person, very honest and devoted to the development of the girls and women of her country, will soon be the financial partner of Mrs. Konaté, the person in charge of the sponsorship in Fodécariah, to receive the sponsorship money by MoneyGram and to help Mrs. Konaté to organize the 2-3 school distributions of our 73 sponsored girls.
The one in Fodécariah has committed to cleaning the school infrastructure that we have put in place. Moreover, since our last 2 delegations in 2019-2020 denouncing the lack of hygiene in the village, they have decided to sensitize the population by cleaning the village of its garbage.
They have installed garbage cans all over the village and collect the garbage every week with their triporteur, provided by the diaspora of Fodecariah & Balimana. Even if we still see some plastics lying around on the roadside, they are no longer the mounds of the past with 30 cm layers at each corner, as it is still the case in many other villages around.
This song was written by Papa Wemba before his death. He had wished to sing it himself during his last hospitalization (André Grégoire hospital) in Montreuil ( Paris suburb ) in France, in February 2016.
After his death in April 2016, this song has just been taken over by Luciana Demingongo, an artist with a very melancholic voice and filled with a lot of emotions. Good listening and happy holidays.
Viva la musica
For all those who do not know Papa Wemba yet, know that he was the king of the Rumba and the sape. Watch this video:
